OBAR&CO. wasn't built on a business plan. It was built on a belief: that hospitality done right has the power to turn any gathering into something people remember for years. That belief wasn't formed in a classroom. It was earned over twenty years of showing up, every shift, every event, every guest, and refusing to deliver anything less than exceptional.

Omar Albarouki has stood behind bars at NFL stadiums, managed floors across 50,000 square feet of high-volume entertainment, run dining rooms where the experience was the entire point, and led teams through events where there was no margin for error. He has served guests who expected nothing less than perfection, and delivered it. From intimate private dinners to sold-out concerts with tens of thousands in attendance, the standard never changed. Neither did the commitment.

The Journey Behind the Company

Late 1990s

It started at a stall. Omar's father, Gassan Albarouki, built Gassan's Middle Eastern Cuisine from the ground up at the Chestnut Hill Farmers Market, becoming a recognized merchant at one of Philadelphia's most beloved community markets. The stall was known for authentic hummus, falafel, baba ganoush, and Mediterranean salads made the right way: from scratch, with pride, for the community.
At just 8 years old, Omar was already behind the counter. Taking orders. Prepping. Watching his father work with a warmth, discipline, and hospitality that doesn't come from a training manual. It comes from culture, from family, and from genuinely caring about the people you serve.
Where it truly started. Hospitality wasn't something Omar learned, it was something he was raised in. Every standard OBAR&CO. holds today traces back to watching his father run that stall the right way.
2003 – 2004
Dishwasher, South Street Diner
Everybody starts somewhere. Omar started in the dish pit. At 13, he was washing dishes at South Street Diner, one of Philadelphia's most iconic late-night spots. No glamour, no tips, no spotlight. Just work. This is where the foundation was poured: discipline, showing up, and doing the job nobody else wants to do without complaint.
The real beginning. Every great operation runs on people willing to do the work others overlook. That respect for every role in the building never left.
2004 – 2005
Toast Master, Penrose Diner
Penrose Diner didn't care how old you were. It cared whether you could keep up. Two commercial conveyor toasters, side by side, during one of Philadelphia's most relentless breakfast rushes. 5:30am to noon, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. He started on one machine. Speed and consistency got him the second. The veteran waitresses on that floor had been doing this for decades, respect wasn't given, it was earned, one shift at a time. Burns on the hands came with the territory. Showing up anyway was the job.
You learn more about work ethic before 8am at Penrose than most people learn in a year. That never left.
2004 – 2009
Head Server, Marrakesh
Five years turning a meal into a memory. At Marrakesh, service wasn't transactional, it was theatrical. Every table was an experience, every guest was taken on a journey. This is where Omar learned that hospitality isn't about what you serve. It's about how you make people feel.
The philosophy. That every event should feel like an experience, not a transaction — that belief started here.
2008 – 2015
Food Runner & Caterer, Aramark — Lincoln Financial Field
NFL game days. Sold-out concerts. Tens of thousands of people. Omar learned what it means to operate at scale — moving fast, thinking ahead, keeping everything stocked and running when there is no margin for error.
The logistics. The ability to set up, execute, and break down flawlessly under pressure — built right here.
2009 – 2011
Server, Fogo de Chao
Fine dining at one of Philadelphia's most respected restaurant brands. Here, excellence wasn't celebrated, it was expected. Omar refined the art of reading a room, anticipating needs, and delivering service that feels effortless to the guest even when it isn't.
The standard. The expectation that every guest interaction should feel seamless — no matter what's happening behind the scenes.
2011 – 2012
Head Server, Tashan Restaurant
Upscale American-Indian fine dining where presentation was everything. White glove service for parties of 50 and above. Every detail: the table setting, the timing of each course, the way a dish was described, was deliberate and precise. This is where the art of elevated hospitality became second nature.
The presentation. The reason every OBAR&CO. setup is clean, intentional, and refined — this is where that eye was sharpened.
2012 – 2016
Server Captain & Event Captain, Lucky Strike
50,000 square feet. Non-stop entertainment. Full event execution across an entire venue. Omar led teams, coordinated buffet setups and breakdowns, and managed service across one of Philadelphia's highest-volume entertainment complexes. This is where management became instinct.
The leadership. Every OBAR&CO. staffing engagement is run with this level of operational discipline — whether it's 20 guests or 200.
2016 – 2018
Server, Morgan's Pier
Philadelphia's premier waterfront dining destination. High volume, high energy, high expectations. This chapter was about consistency: performing at the same level on a Tuesday as on a Saturday in peak summer season.
The consistency. Clients don't just get our best when it's convenient. They get our best every time.
2015 – Present
Lead Bartender, Aramark — Lincoln Financial Field
Back to Lincoln Financial Field, but now behind the bar. Running full beverage service operations for NFL games and major concerts at the premium club suite level. Inventory management, team training, event coordination: all of it, every time, in front of tens of thousands.

We bring the expertise, the equipment, the setup, and the kind of bar presence that makes your guests feel taken care of. Every booking includes a pre-event consultation and a custom cocktail menu built around your event.

Service Packages

We offer two packages: bartender-only and a full-service BYOB package, plus a full suite of add-ons including mixers, ice, bar back support, bar rentals, and more. All packages include a pre-event consultation, alcohol shopping list, and professional setup and breakdown. Client provides all alcohol per NJ state law.

Do you provide alcohol?+
No. OBAR&CO. operates on a BYOB model for all bartending services. Clients supply all alcohol per NJ state law. We handle everything else: equipment, setup, professional service, and breakdown.
Are you insured?+
Yes. OBAR&CO. carries $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate general liability insurance. Clients and venues can be named as additional insured on request. Certificate of Insurance available immediately upon request.
What certifications do you hold?+
The owner holds ServSafe Food Handler certification and RAMP (Responsible Alcohol Management Program) certification. All beverage station attendants are required to hold ServSafe certification.
Do you work with schools and government agencies?+
Yes, institutional clients are a core part of our business. We offer Net-30 billing terms for approved accounts, purchase order billing support, and recurring contract formats for organizations with ongoing hospitality needs. W-9 is on file and available immediately.
What is your service area?+
We primarily serve South Jersey and surrounding areas, including Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania. Contact us for events outside this area and we'll do our best to accommodate.
How do I book or get a quote?+

What's included in the BYOB Full-Service Package?+
Our full-service BYOB package includes up to 4 hours of service, a certified bartender, insurance and travel, pre-event consultation, alcohol shopping list, full setup and breakdown, all bar tools and equipment, and 2 signature cocktails. Client provides all alcohol per NJ state law. Fill out the quote form for full pricing details.
What is the minimum booking for staffing?+
All hospitality staffing engagements have a 4-hour minimum per staff member. Rates start from $30/hr. Contact us for a full quote.
Can I set up recurring hydration station service?+
Absolutely. We offer weekly and bi-weekly recurring contracts for schools, offices, and municipal agencies. Recurring accounts receive a 5% discount and are invoiced monthly with Net-30 terms for approved accounts.
Do you charge for travel?+
Travel up to 25 miles round trip from our home office in Mount Laurel, NJ is included in all pricing at no additional charge. For events beyond 25 miles, a travel fee of $1.50 per additional mile each way applies. Contact us with your event location and we'll include the travel calculation in your quote.
